The Purple Planet Writing Contest

There’s been talk of putting up Fiction on Meme Therapy. Right now it’s just late night living room murmurings. But as a warm up to a potential fiction stream here at Meme Therapy we’ve decided to showcase some truly awful writing. That’s where you, gentle reader, can help us out, by participating in our Purple Planet Writing Contest:

The goal is the write the opening paragraph of a novel using the most cheesey, purple prose you can manage. Keep it short (just one paragraph, 120 words max). We’re going to judge the entries, pick the cheesiest in each category and publish them on the blog. The categories are Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.

Unfortunately we don’t have any prizes to offer except for prominent links to whatever pages you want and the honour of winning the coveted Purple Planet award.

We’re closing the judging Sept 20th. If you want to participate just whip up that paragraph and email it to us at purpleplanet@memetherapy.net (only use that address for the contest).
