It says "memetherapay always has something sensible to say about our favourite genre. In the eternal discussions about what science fiction is, and if it has any important function, therapist Josephe claims in an article (this blog) about Battlestar Galactica, season 3, is the only forum (he used plural fora) where one can see the war on terror from both sides, at least the only genre on television that is allowed to do that.

It's Norwegian btw.

This topic goes to the very heart and soul of SF. It has always been a vehicle for alegory and social/political commentary.

The language is nordic- either swedish, danish, or norweigan.

Tactics do not define the enemies of freedom- strategies and goals do.

It may not have been signifigant but there were a suprising number of blog posts about it. It may have been a slow day in the "I'm outraged about...." department on that paticular day however.

20 complaints - that's utterly insignificant. I imagine it's only newsworthy in that it allows other people to snort at how uptight some viewers can be. I expect that if you looked at the viewing figures for Spooks, they'd show no significant variation at all. Unfortunately I've no idea where to find stats like that!

Well... SF can be "interpreted" in ways the author didn't think of. I'm not sure the BSG writers are 100% conscious of "subtexts" all the time.

Example:
Back during Gulf War One, I had this idea of a space-opera where the planets fought over the future equivalent of oil (deuterium in Jupiter's atmosphere)... and years later I wrote the novel (available for free reading here</a>. My intention then was that the villain would remind the reader of Saddam Hussein.

After that came Gulf War Two, and suddenly the same story seemed to gain a completely different interpretation....
